It sucks when you eagerly sign up for a product only to be redirected to a baffling dashboard and have no way to figure out how to use it on your own.

It’s even worse when you get in contact with the team and receive a short reply… a few days later. No exactly helpful.

If you don’t want this to happen to your own customers, read on. 

While the best approach is make your product easier to use, there’s a few things you can do to make sure they don’t leave and never come back:

  • 📚 Create a comprehensive collection of easy-to-read knowledge base articles. If you want to keep support costs down, document your product. It might be time-consuming at the start, but having to answer the same thing time and time again is too.
  • 🦌 Make a speedy onboarding sequence which sets the user up for success. You know your product inside-out. Help the user set up things you know get them onboard quicker. For example, we’ve just updated our onboarding to help users add a link back to their homepage right away.
  • 👌 Be friendly and responsive with email or live chat. One of the fastest put-offs is getting a slow response. Try getting your response time down and don’t forget to show up with a friendly attitude.
